I have always been told that The doctors permission is needed before they can issue me with them. it's always been OK actually and I have got them. however, I plan on my next visit to ask at my consultation for him to print off the blood tests. If he doesn't like it well it's tough... I want the ones going back to 2011 as I want to try and track my decline if I can whilst being told all was "normal"

Under the Data Protection Act, you results are your data and you are fully entitled to a copy, or to have the figures verbally.

Knowing this has been of tremendous help to me. I now have a spreadsheet with all my results going back to 2006, which helped me to pinpoint a decline that doctors looking at one set of results at a time on screen had missed completely.

There shouldn't be an issue with getting this information, but you might have to be firm about it.

I've got an under active thyroid and the GP always shows me my blood results. My consultant always gives me copies too.

GP printed them out for me straight away - he was surprised I didn't have a copy already
