Constant Toilet Trips & bloating, anyone had same experience??

I hate going to the doctors therefore it takes me a lot to pluck up my courage to go & i'm thinking i do really need to go as been having some problems for quite a while now.
I'm roughly 9st 5lb, 5ft8 & have been having problems with my bladder for some time where I constantly feel like i need the toilet, yet i can go & only pass a small amount.
I feel like there's pressure on my bladder & down below pretty much all the time, if i lay down in bed it can feel like something's sitting on my bladder & makes it feel worse.
My stomach is always bloating up but i don't have any excess weight around my stomach, at times i feel so bloated it looks like i'm pregnant :((
I did have a urine test a few months back & it showed a bit of abnormality & was given some tablets to 'cure' it, but they obviously didn't work & it feels like it's getting worse as time passes.
I feel tired all the time, or another great word in the dictionary 'weary', my back constantly hurts, i can never decide what to eat as most of the time i feel full but have ate very little & realise it's more because i feel so full & bloated inside that the idea of putting anything else in makes me feel like i'll pop!!
I probably do need to go to the doc's, i just wondered if anyone had experienced similar & something i could try before going.

Emma16,

I would still be asking for a gynae referral anyway and would not be surprised if the pelvic scan showed nothing untoward. If endometriosis is present it is not detected on ultrasound scans.

Polycystic ovaries are multiple cystic follicles on the ovaries, these can cause problems with ovulation.

Chocolate cysts are not related at all to PCOS: these are endometrioma and related to endometriosis.

FWIW I have PCOS and this is not normally associated with painful periods or pain during sex.

I will definately be asking to be referred to a gynae even if the scan show's nothing as I know deep down all isn't well. Things are getting worse not better & even me who'll put up with pretty much anything, can't envisage living like i do for much longer!
I'm not convinced its PCOS, but then again im no doctor, you just sometimes have a gut feeling when it come's to your own body at times.

I had very similar symptons a few years ago, I had myself convined it was cancer. It turned out to be Adenomyosis which is internal endometriosis. This means it is contained to the muscular lining of the womb.

Theres so many things that it could be, keep us informed.
Take care Smile

I think we all think the worst but your right, there's so many things that could be causing my problems. Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it sooner rather than later. Thanks again :)

I've got all your symptoms & have a 4cm dermoid cyst. I had one removed 2 years ago & was told that was the end of it! This time is different! My bladder feels full quickly, no appetite, don't know what to eat so I don't want to cook for the kids. I was coming on here to ask if people had suffered dermoid cysts and any suggestions for help but saw your post and thought your symptoms the same! I feel like I have a head pushing down! Suddenly desperate for loo. It's horrible! I have an appt in 2 weeks but feel the cyst has grown since scan 4 wks ago! Anyone have any opinions? I'm tired of feeling so uncomfortable. I'm just tired!

emma16 · 30/03/2014 11:39

You sound very similar to my symptoms :( Can I ask does your stomach bloat out like your around 4-5 months pregnant? Do you get sharp pains through your abdomen at any times? I feel exactly the same like this a ball of something sitting there pressing down but the doctor examined my stomach & said it felt fine, however i suppose our body's are so so sensitive that even something as small as 2cms could cause chaos down there if it's not supposed to be there. A bit like when you get an eyelash in your eye, it feel's like a mountain!
What is your appointment for, gynae or a scan?

I had my scan 4 weeks ago. I have a 4cm growth between my ovaries. My gp thinks my new symptoms, bladder and pushing down feeling is because it's pushing on my organs. I thought 4cm was small but he said no! I do get sharp pains. I feel like I've got a grapefruit in there! Got an appt 10/4 with consultant. Last time I had discomfort & No other problems but this time is different. I didn't have surgery for over a year but I want it done now! Feel like an old lady! Lol!

emma16 · 30/03/2014 13:42

A 4cm growth of something that shouldn't be there doesn't seem small, especially if it's causing other problems.
Not long till your next appointment then, hopefully you wont have to wait long to have it removed. How did they take it out last time?

Sounds ovary related, as others have said. I had a 7cm cyst and 2 smaller ones removed from my ovaries last year, and before my operation I felt like I needed to pee constantly. I was virtually going every hour.

Sounds like the ball is rolling for you now - hope you get things sorted.

racystacy1 · 30/03/2014 20:55

It was keyhole but it was smaller. My consultant was bril. He let me decide when I wanted the Op. Insist on a referral. My GP couldn't feel this 1 but referred me anyway. I'm never @ the Dr either! The dermoid cyst is harmless in itself but they grow and can twist which is v painful & often an emergency so make an appt! I forgot to say, yes! I get v bloated, at completely random times but usually after I've felt pain or discomfort. Let me know how you get on!

racystacy1 · 15/04/2014 00:55

Had my appt. They say I have another dermoid cyst. Gone on waiting list for Op. 4 month waiting list. Told consultant in more pain this time so he said take pain killers. Told him I feel like an old lady! We both laughed. In the grand scheme of things he's right. It's not life threatening. I might be in pain but it's not going to kill me. I work in a GP practice and every now & again tragic things happen to the loveliest of people. This is nothing.
I said I didn't want to go through this every 2 years. He said it was bad luck & it probably won't happen again. That's what they said last time! He said that all the time I produce eggs it may happen. Here's to an early menopause!
I obviously have super eggs that want to grow into something! I've been pregnant 7 times and have 2 live children. My 1st was stillborn@36 weeks. The rest miscarriages that had to be medically initiated as my body wanted to carry them on! My hormones must be off the scale!.My childbearing years are over so I'm hoping this won't happen again. My mum had her last period @ 42 so I'm hoping, for cysts sake, I will too!

To all those going through this, it's naff but it could be worse, like ovarian cancer. If something going to grow down there a dermoid cyst is the thing!

Hugs!!!
