Zoladex injection today for endometriosis

I have done this before. Had a couple of courses for it so I know what to expect. Today though I feel very nervous because, on my last encounter with the practice nurse, I mentioned I would be getting it. Apparently she does them. (I have only been with this surgery a year). I said that I thought the GPs do them as it is classed as a medical procedure. Fast forward to appt with GP. She had no idea about them. I mentioned what the nurse had said. GP happy with that. While I think I prefer the idea of an experienced nurse over inexperienced GP, I just don't feel comfortable. I also have a sneaky suspicion that the nurse is overconfident. The GPs inexperience concerns me. Happy to randomly give me the injection. Doesn't think it matters where I am on my cycle. Just vague. Very vague. So a little hand holding would be appreciated. Please.

Hi - mine were all done by a nurse at my GPs - apart from the very first one (that was really really painful) which was done by a registrar at the gyne department at the hosptial! I am sure it will be fine. Hope it goes well today.

I give Zoladex as a practice nurse.

Technically it's a subcut injection even though it's an implant. I do approx 3-4 a week. My GPs wouldn't know what to do with it and would come and ask me to give it if a patient had booked in with them!

It doesn't matter where you are in your cycle; they are given every 4 weeks usually.

Thank you guys. I have realised my next injection is while I am away on holidays so knowing it is normal practice for the nurse to do it makes me feel better.
