Hello, feeling pretty down about the state of my skin at the moment-seeing all of these make-up free photos doing the rounds online hasn't helped tonight either! I'm in my 30s so it's really gone past something I will just come to grow out of now.

Does anyone on here suffer with adult acne too?
I was on Dianete for years which really cleared my skin up great but I had to come off that 5 years ago. I had Zyneryt ointment on prescription for a couple of years and that was fantastic but suddenly it's like I became immune and it stopped working. I've tried a couple of other treatments from the gp (can't remember names now) but nothing else has been very effective.
Any advise or recommendations would be much appreciated!

I don't have acne so can't comment as I know it's a condition which is more than 'spots' but wanted to help. I see a very good beauty therapist. She's attached to a cosmetic surgery clinic but it's not surgery she is excellent. I have these treatments called microdermabrasion. They basically Hoover your skin, it can be as gentle or as aggressive as is right for you but, my skin is really loving it.
Also there is a product called retinol or refi ova which a GP can prescribe it's a vitamin A type cream and has been shown to work on younger skins. Also fish oil a good brand not a cheapy one may help.
Do you think you may have a hormone imbalance, do you have excess hair growth ( I'm sorry to sound a bit hard) but it could be linked to something like PCOS. The GP is the first port of call I guess. But don't rule out acupuncture, reflexology and a good beautician. Yes it does cost but they will give you an hour of quality time and help you get to the bottom of this. Good luck x

There's a online company called Paula's choice which do very good acne products. Also look at acne.org for their skin regime.

I has roaccutane twenty yrs ago but still get break outs.
I find using a spot cream with 2% bezo something in it works. What I do though is spread the cream all over my face every other day not just on the spots. This dries my skin and seems to prevent new spots.

I have had acne from age 12 till now I'm 32, I have tried lots of things and found zyneryt worked for A
a few yrs then stopped, duac cream then worked for about a yr and stopped. Antibiotics made no difference, I went to health shop and bought oil free face wash and moisturiser with no sodium laureath sulphate, that has helped , and I bought pure minerals make up which has had a huge effect on my skin, only 2 spots in 3 months.

Defiantly seek advice from a therapist, my therapist says often we are harsh on our skin to 'clean' it but it's actually not dirty and the 'cleaning' strips the oil leavibg the skin more inflamed and more prone to infection. Are you very stressed ATM? Be king to yourself and take care x
