PMT is getting worse - what to do?

I've never had pmt untill the last 6 months or so, never understood what people were talking about. Recently I've noticed that for a few days before I'm due that I've been feeling increasingly hormonal, mentioned it to DH, who said 'duh - I knew that'. It seems to be getting worse and he's very patient with me, but I also find myself getting very grumpy with the children and it's not fair on them.

I really don't know what can be done. Was thinking about going to the GP, but will they just say its one of those things or is there something that can be done? Any help?

Afraid I don't really know either, but I suffer dreadfully. The only thing I have heard of is evening primrose oil, but seem to remember being told that you can't take it during breast feeding, and as I am haven't explored it further

glassofwine my PMT has become so much worse since having ds two years ago. Like you i never really suffered but now seem to swell up like a balloon and feel emotionally terrible. I have been on evening primrose oil (the 1000mg ones) for the last two months. I think it has helped. The only other advice i know if the stuff i can never follow - no caffeine, lots of water, exercises, blah de blah.

Did you notice this change after having a lo? i wonder if that is a 'thing'?

Yes although DS is 3 1/2 I think it's been slowly creeping up on me since he was born, didn't have any periods between DD2 and DS as they were only 11 months apart. Since he was born my periods are v. v. heavy, but at least not painful like they used to be - I think my body is reacting to having three pregnancies in three years!
