My daughter (3) had just started going to a kids yoga class which she loved, but which has inexplicably ended rather suddenly - certainly not due to lack of demand! Has anyone used any of the kids yoga books/videos and can recommend one, I think it would be a lovely way to spend half an hour with her. Alternatively does anyone in Hackney/Stokey area know of a class - or I may have spotted a gap in the market!

Kid's yoga, now that's a thought. Emmagee or anyone else, what's it like? did your children enjoy it?

She loved it for the few weeks she went.As parents weren't 'allowed' to stay I can only tell you what I gleaned from her and other parents. I think they do a number of poses as part of a story, thus classic 'Dog' pose is called 'Mountain' so that other children can go through/under. They have alot of fun, it's quite a good way of learning about good posture, gentle discipline, etc. and we have fun doing the poses at home.

I love the idea of a kids yoga class. When my daughter was smaller I practised yoga a great deal and involved her regularly she loved it. She loved it. When i was pregnant with my second I did some yoga and the baby seemed to respond to it. Emmagee, you have inspired me to get back into it myself and encourage my toddler... there is definately a gap in the market!!

They had some kiddies yoga on Tweenies or Teletubbies a while ago, and my 2 yr old, kept putting his hands on the floor, bottom in the air and saying YOGA! In the aisle of Sainsburys, in the playground picking other son up from school,...very funny.

Yoga is so IN now, I bet a franchise (like Tumble Tots) would work brilliantly.

There is a young girl in my yoga class who has been going for a few years with her mum. She is very advanced - even more than most of the grown ups. Quite sweet actually that she wants to learn yoga so she can teach her mum so she won't have to go to classes.

I notice that this child is unlike most of her age - very calm & collected, quiet air of confidence & able to concentrate very well.

Found a fun website, www.timages.com

You choose various yoga poses, which then appear on your screen with some music, computer lady on beach with rolling waves, and it 'talks' you through them.

Your own computer, yoga class!!!
