Sorry to hear you're having a hard time with it, scruff. No real advice I'm afraid other than I found it better to eat little and often. I went off quite a few foods, especially vegetables, so just stick to what you do feel like and go with that for a few days. Soup is also a good one as it's easy to digest and can provide a good balance of foods. Just remember to keep drinking lots of water as a minimum. HTH

Nibble on ginger biscuits - helped me!

I hate ginger - that in itself would have made me nauseous ! I nibbled on dried crackers or rich tea fingers. Helped a bit.

HI Scruff - lots of symphathy going to you as I know how horrid this is.

I found that apples helped me feel not so sick! Not sure why.

When I was at work with morning sickness I took: flannel, wipes, travel toothbrush/toothpaste, mints in with me. Just incase you get sick at work. I would also alert your fellow teachers about the situation incase you need to dash off - so they can cover for your class.

My sickness lasted up until I was about 12 weeks.
I hope it goes wel lfor you x x x

Drink plenty of water/juice/herbal teas, and nibble constantly. Rest as much as possible. Keep some fairly plain biscuits or crackers by the bed, also some water, so that you can nibble and drink every time you wake up during the night and first thing in the morning. I found that the worst things for morning sickness were hunger, thirst and tiredness. I would have to have an hour or so's sleep before I could even consider eating supper. There's a tape called Morningwell that you can get from the NCT, which is supposed to help ease morning sickness. Ginger really is good. I couldn't face crystalised ginger, but ginger nuts dipped in water, or ginger thins neat were very helpful. Also, oddly enough, black pepper on my food.

Good luck, it's worst at the beginning!

Hi scruff, sorry to hear you're so unwell. Have you tried arrowroot biscuits? Arrowroot is a natural form of starch (from the arrowroot, in the country it's from, they use the starch from the root to draw poison inflicted by arrows), and for some reason, the biscuits worked really well for me. The trick was to eat one before I got up (preferably before I even opened my eyes!) and then at the first signs of nausea throughout the day. Someone recommended them to me earlier on, but I didn't actually bother (didn't think they'd work!) 'till about 8 weeks. And I was in love with them from then on! I'm 16 weeks now, and rarely feel nauseous at all now. I really sympathise, I lost weight over the first few months, and it's horrendous to feel so si* all the time! But, hopefully it wont be long 'till you're feeling great.

I suffered dreadfully with 2nd pregnancy I threw up 30 x a day for 3 months, I visited a homeopath (last resort) and she helped me a bit, got me to feel queasy a lot but only throwing up 4/t times a day, this wore off though
I also wore seabands for about 6 months until they were grey and smelly, they really helped
All I ate for 4 months was tomato cup a soup and fresh pears - neither of which I can eat now dd is 16mths old now...
It was horrendous - I quit the part time day job as it wasn;t fair on them, I was signed off long term sick but was never planning on working past 7 mths anyway so resigned.
It does pass and you will be amazed at how the memory of it disappears...
Good luck
xx
