Hi,
Just wondered if anyone has a similar experience.Had dd1 14 years ago.It was a horrendous high cavity forceps delivery and my episiotomy extended and haemmorhaged .Following this i was incontinent from my back passage and had my perineum rebuilt from skin taken from elsewhere ! Also had a rectocele repair. Was all well until 3 years ago when i decided to go for a normal delivery with ds1.He got stuck and i was pushing for 4 hours.Needless to say my rectocele came down again. Was advised to have double repair (no bladder symptoms except takes forever to have a wee ) and also a hysterectomy.Am only 35 and didn`t fancy any of that.Have put it off for nearly 3 years and my rectocele now protrudes through my vagina. Finally saw a great doctor yest. who agrees i should keep my uterus (would like perhaps one more child ) and just go for a posterior repair again to cure my rectocele.Am i mad wanting another child after all these problems? Has anyone else had similar surgery and gone on to have another baby ? I do seem awfully young to have all this going on and would love to talk to anyone with similar .

Hi sleepymumof3, I don't have any experience of this (and it sounds utterly horrendous ), I just wanted to bump it up for you.

I guess you could have an elective caesarean if you had another baby, to avoid making it any worse?

Hi Sleepymumof3 - sounds like you are going through the mill! I had a section with dd and opted for VBAC with ds and am 37. Now have 'significant' cystocele and minor rectocele. Have seen physio for coaching over pelvic floor exercises, which I now am supposed to be doing 'all' the time. I actually have fairly little in the way of functional symptoms, but I guess this may change. My mother has just had repair surgery for prolapsed uterus - wonder if the tendancy for this is inherited?
But you are not alone, and no I don't think you are mad to want another child! If the new doc thinks it would be OK with just repair, then go for it. Think elective section sounds like a plan though!!!

Havent got an experiance of this but i doubt you would have a problem with asking or getting a section at all. Good luck, dont think you are mad.
