Can I give my children iron suppliments and how?

I'm concerned that my children don't have enough iron in their diets, they eat v little red meat, no pulses, some green veg although DS will eat none. As far as I can see they might get some in breakfast cereal, but that's it. Should I suppliment and how?

spatone is supposed to be very good - you put it in water.

Wow - that was quick. I've heard of spatone, but thought it was for adults.

spatone or floradix (both suitable for children)

I probably wouldn't give it to them every day though unless you knew they were deficient. Maybe when they are obviously run down.

REALLY? since i refused a blood transfusion, ive been drinking guinness (HV advise!)

have you tried dried apricots ? they are very high in iron and also potassium. Very delicious too.
