Hi Kizzie , how nice to see someone asking after me.You can see my monday blues thread fro todays installment!! Its up and down at the mo, although my hypnotherapist is doing wonders. Even though some sessions are hard and I come away with dificult feelings, it seems to be lifting a lot of baggage. I need to update my thread on my latest sessions.

My doctor would like to start reducing the mg's of citalopram soon , so that was a good sign.

I am getting on well with the baby , although saying that I was about to post a change in her behaviour in the evenings which is causing some distress. Despite this I think she is wonderful.

How are you doing ??, I dont think we have spoken in a while. Werent you trying to come of SSRI's ???

Thanks for asking kizzie - I'm starting to feel a good bit better now. My psychiatrist thinks I only need one more appointment with him at the oment and then I'll not need to see him for 6 months, but I'll be seeing the CPNs in the meantime. My kidneys are more of a bother than the depression at the moment (kidney stones left over from pregnany) as I had a kidney infection over the weekend (narrowly kept out of hospital) and am in a lot of pain again, but hopefully it will pass in the next few days.
So things are looking up. I'm more able to think positively and see how lucky we are, as Rachel is a little star and now 3 months old!

Thats great news - I followed both your threads a few weeks ago and things sound so much better now.

Melsy - I know my own recovery from PND was very like that. Even when things started to improve there were good days and bad days until eventually the good days became the norm. (yes im still in the middle of a protracted withdrawal from seroxat. Very horrible/ very upsetting and very boring!)

Susan - you sound so much better! Hope the kidney infection clears up quickly- sounds really painful!

Melsy - ill have a look at your other thread.

I was going to ask this today too, kizzie - you beat me to it
It's fantastic to hear you both sounding so much more positive - glad you're starting to enjoy your dd now, susan, and melsy - are you feeling better than you did yesterday? I have days like that, when I keep gravitating back to MN just for someone to talk to.
Take care all

susanmt and melsy, very glad to hear your pieces of news. Hope things continue to improve.

susanmt · 10/03/2004 09:41

Just when I thought I was doing better ...
Had a ghastly kidney infection last week end and it has kicked off a new round of stones. Can't keep anything down cos of the pain, so am being admitted to hospital this morning for pain control and rehydration.
See you all soon!

alibubbles · 10/03/2004 10:23

susanmt, sorry to hear that you are not too well. I had an infection a couple of weeks ago, it is really awful. I have an appt to see the consultant in two weeks re removal of my kidney. I am also back on Prozac as it is getting me down and I am not sleeping.

I must have a high pain threshhold, but insisted on some prescription painkillers this time, so gave me codeine. I can't imagine him admitting me to hospital!

kizzie · 10/03/2004 10:33

Susan / allibubbles - really sorry you're both going through the mill.
Hope everything goes ok in hospital susan and they sort you out PDQ.
Allibubbles - is that why you ended up back on the prozac? - sounds like a lot to have to go through.

Seems like its a special day for nasty things, Ive just come back from the hospital after having a 14 hr fasting blood sugar test, promplty ended up in an examination room as had a full blown hypo right there in the middle of the hospital. Typically when they took my BS again it was normal, but they had just made me drink about a pint of tea with 4 tablespoons of sugar!!! lets hope the fasting blood test shows something up, otherwise I am gonna get nowere with being believed I have Hypoglycemia and I am not making this up.

Im now home as my mum had to come to the rescue as I had driven myself there(thanks mum), but couldnt drive back home, so she drove me home in my car. Although DH has just rushed into work , godforbid he waits with me a bit to see Im ok. I feel fed up, upset, shaky and knackered. Oh well at least I can eat now.

So sorry everyones having a crap time ; alibubbles , kizzie & poor Susanmt , it is the aides(sp?) of March though!!!! Sending love xxxx

I'm home! Well, I got home on Friday but was readmitted on Sunday as I had pain that pethidine couldn't control - the worst kidney pain I think I've ever had. I kicked up a huge fuss in the hospital as they wanted to continue to give me pethidine (pump me full of opiates that don't work - I DONT think so!!) so in the end I got to see my friend the pain specialist anaesthetist who helped so much when I was pregnant. He has prescribed me pain releif patches that you stick on to your arm and they are FAB - pain releif all the time, no 'hit' when the painkillers are administered (therefore less chance of getting hooked). So finallly I might be on top of the pain. I had another kidney scan which showed that the stones are almost all gone, so it shouldnt be for too much longer anyway.

Melsy - hope you get a decent result from your test!

Alibubbles - I can only sympathise about the kidney and the depression. We'll get through it! I think you will feel a lot better once the kidney is removed - taking that source of pain and infection out of your body will hopefully make a huge difference to you. ((hugs))

alibubbles · 18/03/2004 14:14

susanmt, sorry to hear that you've not been too well, melsy too. Lets all have a group hug!

kizzie · 19/03/2004 11:05

Susan - glad you're home. Hope it all gets sorted out soon.

Allibubbles - hope the prozac has started to kick in for you.

Melsy - any results yet.

Ive had a really really horrible week. Severe panic attacks/ very weepy/ impossible to think straight.

I wish wish wish Id never taken seroxat.

Down to 8mg of prozac liquid now but also been taking valium (2mg a day) since the swap from seroxat 5 months ago so just feel like Ive swapped one addiction for another.

Anyway sorry this is such a negative note - just struggling a bit at the moment and this just seems to have been going on forever.
