Cannot sleep at night due to tingling/restless arms

I don't know what on earth is causing it but I am exhausted.

I lie down and my arms feel like they have an electric sort of pins and needles/buzzing irritating feeling, not on my skin but deep inside my arms. I can't get comfy and can't get to sleep. Sometimes I get the feeling in shoulders and across the top of my back too, its quite intense and actually quite unpleasant.

Dh says he thinks I'm just stressed but I'm not sure, I'm tired and I want to sleep and its so annoying that I can't. I have to keep moving but it doesn't get rid of the sensation and each morning I am shattered.

Does anybody else have this?

Could be trapped nerves?

Would it be just at night if it was trapped nerves? Would it get better on its own. I'm so desperate for some rest!

Could be related to your back, or could be peripheral neuropathy. I would go to the gP if I were you. Low B12 can cause similar symptoms, so a blood test is a good idea.

Have a gp appt later in the week so will mention it.

It is just so incredibly irritating and uncomfortable, being so tired then having this sensation and being unable to go to sleep.

Can I suggest magnesium? Obviously see your GP but a magnesium spray or supplement does wonders for restless legs so in theory should help

I have the same problem with my legs.
Look up ' restless legs syndrome' that isn't just for the legs as the name would suggest. It is for any part of the body that has that strange, need to move it feeling. Happens when the body rests.
