Blood vessels in hands bursting, any ideas why?

DH frequently gets this, when he picks things up or does work with tools, or even opening a can of tomatoes, it doesn't seem To need a lot of pressure or impact.

We're over seas and the GP we had told him he would have To witness it happening in order To diagnose. He's now buggered off with all the patient's récords, yes seriously, so of course new Doc doesn't even know it's happening as DH hasn't mentioned it.

Does Anyone have any ideas what could cause it please? It's very painfull when it happens.

Is there anywhere else you can go to get him checked out? I'd be concerned about problems with blood clotting.

It is painful. It happens to me. My thumbs go black sometimes. Like a big bruise.

It might be Raynauds syndrome.

I have a chronic autoimmine condition that causes it. My hands get very cold, my skin deteriorates on my fingers, the blood vessels burst and I often get pins and needles and often drop things as I cant feel how hard I am gripping things? Its all down to poor circulation.

Thanks, he's genérally in astonishing good Health, keen sportsman all his Life, good circulación, heart is strong etc, but I hadn't thought of Raynauds. That's in my family, not his!

He was though unaware that diabetes runs in his family, don't ask, I'll see what the link can tell me as I'm sure they know moré about Raynauds now than 40 years ago when I was told about it.

I'm having trouble convincing him as he's been told a Dr. needs To see it as it happens.

Diabetes can be caused by autoimmune conditions too. He may have a low level heath condition, not yet apparent that is causing it.

I think I'll have drag him To the Dr.

He has been Pre diabétic and didn't do what the old Dr. told him To, although he did change his diet as it had become far less healthy. He's had his glucosa checked since then and it's okay but I don't know How close To the not okay his numbers are.

Trouble is he's not the type To want To face up To anything medical as he thinks he'll be doomed.

He's away working right now but I shall see what I can sort out with the Dr.

Thank you.

"...as he thinks he'll be doomed."

Oh I do agree with your DH there. For us blokes its all binary. We are either 'fecund and fighty' or 'doomed and dying'. There is no in between.

My DW tells me to go to the doctors about once a week.
