Hi

I have been to drs many times for these symptoms - feel faint when looking up or standing still, feel like blood being drained, get really dizzy and sick if make quick movements. Every time I go I get diagnosed with a new condition but nothing solved - so far have under active thyroid and pernicious anaemia - am going later in week for MORE blood tests - any ideas?

Labrynthitis?

Tanfastic · 17/01/2014 21:47

Sounds like vertigo either caused by a virus or benign positional vertigo.

Can't believe your gp hasn't suggested this to be honest. I took anti sickness tablets when I got this for about two weeks and gradually weaned myself off them (in the hope that it had gone). They worked a treat.

sublimecorpse · 17/01/2014 21:49

Sounds like what I had BPV as someone said above.

When I have it, looking up or down makes me feel like I might pass out.

Follyfoot · 17/01/2014 21:49

Have you been investigated for vestibular neuronitis? Might be worth asking about it.

daisydee43 · 17/01/2014 22:03

These do sound quite plausible will ask on thurs. Maybe it is a type of vertigo - blood pressure is fine

It could be POTS, this makes you feel faint when you stand up, there's a website with information about it www.potsuk.org

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/01/2014 08:02

I was thinking possibly PoTS too. Though it doesnt tie in with the head moving.
You can do a very rough and ready test. lie down for a few minutes and take your pulse. Stand up and take your pulse. If theres a difference of more than 40bpm and you feel poorly/faint then it could be PoTS (but you need an official diagnosis). If it is, it can be treated very effectively.

I agree with Folly it could be vestibular neuronitis. I had VN 2 years ago, they first thought it was labrynthitis and gave me anti sickness pills but after lots of tests and an MRI I had physiotherapy to get it sorted - which worked!

Hi so went to drs today to ask abt the things you've suggested but still no outcome. The dr said what I was describing was normal but it doesn't feel normal and I'm so stressed now feel like I'm making it up. No I have to go back in a week after done blood tests

Have you tried going to a good chiropractor? I had very similar symptoms - when I looked up at a high shelf say, I could feel myself about to faint. I also felt dizzy and had nauseous headaches.

A friend suggested a chiropractor and the relief was immediate. It's worth considering if nothing else is working. Good luck x

daisydee43 · 23/01/2014 15:43

Sativa - thanks for that - so what did they say the prob was?

It was blood supply to the head & neck. Honestly, it was like a miracle.

Don't want to give you false hope but worth a try ?

BearPear · 23/01/2014 16:36

I had similar symptoms as a young teen which were diagnosed as migraine (and treated with anti-migraine medication for years) I have had vertigo in recent years and the symptoms are very similar - almost like when you're a child spinning round and stop suddenly and it takes a while for your eyes & brain to stop moving.

daisydee43 · 23/01/2014 18:45

How much does a chiropractor cost btw?

OP posts:
Sativa · 23/01/2014 19:20

My chiropractor was about £50 for the initial assessment & treatment and then £40 for each subsequent visit. Not cheap I know but it was worth every penny for me.
