I am awaiting a scan to confirm that I have them, but spent New Year's Eve in a&e and am now having another attack, probably my fault I ate cheese at lunchtime, but I also have Crohn's, so I can't eat fruit and veg as it is, and now I can't have fat or dairy! I'm running out of things to eat :-( are there any good milks that don't taste like crap, I've tried soy and I'd rather starve! I'm on tramadol and that's on,y just taking the edge off, with a 3 year old running around and hubby working stupid hours I'm feeling very sorry myself Sad

Poor you, I have gallstones (8 in fact) and I know how horrible attacks can be Sad. When is the scan ? I don't what to suggest to help, when it happens to me it's always in the middle of the night, I take some paracetamol and something called Smecta and it helps a bit.

astyinmyeye · 08/01/2014 17:45

Almond milk is yummy, I agree with the soy milk, it doesn't taste nice !

TwatWeevil · 08/01/2014 17:46

Oh, you poor thing!

When I had them, I lived on jacket potatoes, baked beans, pasta, soup, salads and sushi, but it sounds like a lot of that is out for you?

Iloveonionchutney · 08/01/2014 17:47

I'm still waiting to here when the scan is, they said in the next few weeks. Ebpven morphine didn't help much when I was in a&e, I think I'll end up having to go back in, if I'm there too much perhaps they'll hurry things up! I'd rather go through childbirth again, it's so bloody miserable, and I can't even have chocolate to cheer myself up!

Jackets and soup are probably ok! Beans and salad are a no go for me, and pasta is ok, just depends on what I put with it, can't have creamy sauces and I have to make my own tomato sauce without the seeds, so more hassle than it's worth sometimes!
I'll try almond milk, I haven't had that, I can manage berries so I'm thinking with a nice milk I can make milkshakes at least and get some nutrition!

Have you had buscopan for the pain? It's an anti spasmodic and might help alongside the tramadol. My SIL was in a&e with kidney stones and morphine wasn't touching her but the buscopan really did. Sounds hideous, hope it goes soon.

Iloveonionchutney · 08/01/2014 18:16

I have bus open too, just dosed up on them and tramadol and got my hot water bottle! Just counting down the minutes til bedtime for dd, she's been copying a lot lately and saying she's not well all the time, so I'm trying not to show it and I actually just want to roll around on the sofa and have a good cry!

Buscopan and co-codamol were my painkillers of choice. The pain was much worse than childbirth for me too.

Is tinned spaghetti any good? I also ate a lot of that. Lost a LOT of weight, as you can imagine.

Iloveonionchutney · 08/01/2014 18:17

Bloody autocorrect lol, I did mean buscopan!

Lottiedoubtie · 08/01/2014 18:20

I was prescribed cocodamol and buscopan when I had it, didnt touch it. It's a vile vile pain.

I practically lived off of low fat sweet and sour chicken and dry bran flakes for the 6 months before the OP. was pretty miserable.

GinSoakedMisery · 08/01/2014 18:22

My friend had her gall bladder removed last year and she managed fine with weetabix.

hope youre sorted soon.

Viviennemary · 08/01/2014 18:24

Poor you. You could ask your Doctor for something. I had Lanzoprasole one per day in the morning. They worked really well. But low fat diet too is a good idea.

Iloveonionchutney · 08/01/2014 18:27

I have omeprazole anyway which is the same, I'm rattling with my Crohn's meds, take 15 pills before bed! I just hope they take it out sooner rather than later, because of my Crohn's it will always be an issue now! I'm just feeling a bit miserable and needed a moan tbh!

Bananas?
Rice cakes?
So sorry to hear you are in pain :( it's the pits.
Nefapam is pretty good.
Do take paracetamol with the tramadol - it increases it's efficacy.
