i am not allergic to anything (aprt form a brief prob with touche eclat)but have dry skin. I have several solid silver bangles ad got anew one for xmas and have got a dry excema style rash on my inner wrist.

It seems worse when it is near water with the bracelt on.

Could this be the case?

How do I get ris of it?

Obvious question - are you sure it's all silver? Hasn't got a plated clasp or something?

MrsCOdswallop · 03/03/2004 12:36

hmmm not sure. Weird to develop an allergy at my illustrious age tho

Who bought it - sounds like a nickel allergly to me - you sure some cheap skate not trying to pass it off as silver ??

Think if I remember rightly silver is quite unreactive - may be bullshitting there but sounds good doesn't it

Try putting a plaster over the clasp or painting it with clear nail varnish. If the rash goes away then you have your culprit

reply here

"he bracelet that you purchased is solid sterling silver, 92.5% pure, and this includes the clasp. Therefore, you should not suffer any problems
from this bracelet. I have met two people during my time in jewellery
who are allergic to sterling silver, on both occasions affecting the
ears, but I have to say that this is extremely unusual. In fact, a
Consultant Dermatologist at one of the major London hospitals actually recommends his patients to us. "
