How often is a lot? Between three times a day and three times a week is normal. I'm coeliac and I 'go' once a day. I alternated between constipation and diarrhoea before diagnosis.

Umm 3 or 4 at the moment. I've always been a one a day type of gal before

When I attempted the zest4life diet plan, I was told that I should poo every time I ate something substantial, so after every meal. Maybe this GF lark suits you and you now have 'normal' bowel function, which you don't recognise because so few of us have it.

I was told that initially the body can start having a bit of a clear out whilst adjusting to gf.

A clear out sounds about right . I've been taking codeine for months for joint pain so have been a bit constipated.
Thanks for replies Smile

Yes it's normal and nothing to worry about. Gluten clogs your bowel up and slows everything down. Now that you're gluten free, things will move along more effectively which is healthier.

Thanks hidden, I do have a much flatter stomach

It takes your body a while to settle down after a radical change in your diet. I don't eat wheat (i'm not a ceoliac) so i'm not GF but I noticed a real change when I gave up the wheat because i used to have constp..

Codiene and wheat can give you const.

If you have joint pains another thing you can do is go on the Hay Way Of eating which is not mixing carbs and protein. Also only eating fruit when you're truly hungry (on an empty stomach) I don't have any joint pains now I do that.
