I did a few years ago. It was one of the worst illnesses I've ever had. wheezy and felt like I couldn't breathe. so sore too. in the end steroids and antibiotics made a big difference.

Il give it to Wednesday then ring a doctor. Breathing much better than yesterday. Feel achy and just horrible. How long did it last?

A good two weeks or so I'm afraid and I guess mine must have been bacterial as it was only once I started the antibiotics that I started to feel better.

I've had it as an adult, it was nasty. Needed the intervention of GP's drugs to get better

No experience of it as an adult but my 9 year ended up in A&E and it was diagnosed as croup. Was surprised as I thought this was a baby/toddler illness. The thing that sorted him out was a single dose of steroids.

My DS was really struggling for breath. One of the Drs said that croup is essentially the juvenile version of laryngitis but another Dr said it was an adult illness in its own right. Whatever it's called the issue is the inflammation of the larynx/throat which can sometimes make breathing difficult. We weren't given antibiotics as were told it was viral.

We'd already been to the GP who sent us home with an inhaler. If she'd just given the steroid dose then it probably wouldn't have got so bad.

Hope you feel better soon but don't hesitate to get some attention if you are really struggling for breath.
