Small lump on neck

Found a small lump near the base of neck more towards the back of neck I'd say more in line with the back of your ear I feel fine although I do have a cold at the moment
Did have soreness around collarbone area a few months ago along with a stiff neck etc thought it was down to using 3 pillows at night
Have no been using 2 and pain or discomfort has eased not sure if it's a muscle problem but kind of worried just now about it
As I say I feel ok no pain etc plus the lump feels as though it moves

I had one of those. The surgeon showed me it when he took it out. It was a little lump of gristle. It's probably nothing to worry about. See your gp though.

Yeah, probably gristle, or a little fatty lump. Some people get loads of these, and they're only a problem if they get knocked a lot, which can cause them to get infected. Go and show it to your GP... If we were all a bit freer with "i'm sure this is nothing, but..." visits to the doctor, we'd catch more of the nasties while they're treatable. Some doctors just love taking these things off, and others will just advise you to see if it bothers you. Sometimes they just disappear on their own!

My ds just had an op to remove a lump from his neck, just below his ear. It was a pleomorphic adenoma, a slow growing benign lesion. He had several months of investigations before a diagnosis was made. All sorts of weird and wonderful things were queried. If you are otherwise fit and healthy that is a very good sign and just remember that diagnosis is a process of elimination - they are looking to rule things out rather than suspecting anything nasty.
