Ways to treat nits?

Nits are doing the rounds at school. No signs on ds yet but thought I would get ahead of the game (sods law I will find the buggers over Christmas when no shops are open!)

So what remedies do you suggest? I remember reading pre-children that tea tree oil hair conditioner combed through is effective, is it?

Get a comb and make it part if the going to bed routine. My 3 yo has had nits on and off since starting preschool. Meds are expensive and not that effective either. Shampoo and condition, nit comb ro remove the live ones and eggs.
Bad luck but hope it helps

Get a nitty gritty comb from Boots - they are amazing! Just that and some conditioner are all it took to de-louse dd.

Second the nitty gritty comb. That specific brand is the only one to buy. Grin

I have always used Elvive conditioner and a pet flea comb with a nice comfortable handle Grin

Nitty gritty - use with conditioner on the first night and then every 3 nights wet. Comb through dry every night in front of the TV though….worked for me with every member of the family (including 3 long haired gals)
