I have been learning a bit about this recently! I am reading a book called the back sufferers bible which goes into a lot of detail about it all. I haven't read anything yet about the sciatic pain spreading upwards but it might be to do with the way you are standing or sitting because of the sciatica?
Are you having any treatment for your sciatica? If not I suggest getting started straight away.

Thanks for posting!

Im unsure whats causing my tummy pain it just seems wierd its all on the same side! No havnt had any treatment yet, actually havnt been to GP about it yet but I think I need to. I have scolosis anyway and a weak back so Im used to some pain its just the additional tummy pain thats a wierd feeling Sad

Do you know if there are any stretches that could help?

The psoas muscle runs deep into your spine (inner side of spine) and is connected to your legs etc. There is a yoga move called threading the needle which really works to getting into the muscle, it's deep work effective in releasing tensions....

Yes. I had initially a feeling of heaviness in the bowel and later a very uncomfortable feeling like being brushed with barbed wire in my cervix and pelvic region. The doctors found it a bit odd tbh except one who got it.

It did improve although sadly not the sciatica and back pain.

I do know someone who used to get a really bad stitch sometimes while cycling and she found lying down flat with a hot water bottle on the place eased it off, also the hot bottle would be good for any sciatica pain if you moved it there.

I had a scan yesterday to check for a possible cyst causing tummy pain and all clear down there so Im now thinking it could be linked to my back.....feel like an idiot going to the GP again but I suppose if he can prescribe something to help alongside trying hot water bottle it may help. Wish it would bugger off Sad

Yes you should go back if you can't tell what is causing the pain. So far in my limited reading of said book I see scoliosis is linked to sciatica due to the position of the spine, so I think this may be a common problem for scoliosis sufferers. So mention all these to the GP and hopefully you will get some help. Maybe physio would help too you might get referred by Gp or you could look into private physio.

Ok interesting! Ive had previous physio for my back but that was about five years ago when I had bad flare ups.
You are right I do need to go back yet again, wouldnt be bothered if it was just sciatica but tummy is frustrating :(
