has fionally managed to keep some bread down, and is now settling with some popcorn and a dvd. thing is, i need to get milk, so do i just drive to the garage and pay over the odds, but leave the kids in the car on the forecourt, or risk the supermarket?

Can't anybody get some for you? If not, I'd just go to garage, if it just milk you need.

Poor DD

trinityrhino · 17/07/2006 12:33

misdee · 17/07/2006 12:33

oh -the garage!!!!!!
what's wrong with leaving the kids in the car on the forecourt??????????/

( am i asking for trouble saying that?)

misdee · 17/07/2006 12:34

nope, both neighbours are disabled or have disabled kids, one is dairy free so cant even borrow a pint off them.

if theres noone to help then I'd do the garage and leave the kids in the car

MamaG · 17/07/2006 12:35

I always leave mine in the car, think it'd be a bit dangerous (and a nightmare!) to mess about with car seats, toddler, bag, keys etc...

ziggiz · 17/07/2006 12:35

Times like this I am so thankful for the garage!

misdee · 17/07/2006 12:35

i am also thinking garage is best option, but have just had the car valeted and diont want sick in it again lol.

how old is dd1, can she hold a bucket in front of her in the car???

SaintGeorge · 17/07/2006 12:37

Is the stuff you have full-fat? If it is you could make it last by diluting 50/50. I have done that before and it just tastes like semi.

SaintGeorge · 17/07/2006 12:38

Or do you have a tin of carnation milk luring in a cupboard anywhere? You can make a pint of milk from one tin.

SaintGeorge · 17/07/2006 12:38

lurking even

alexsmum · 17/07/2006 12:38

could one of the neighbours just sit in with the kids while you whizz out to shop?

misdee · 17/07/2006 12:38

good point SG. i really dont want to go out tbh.

also have some powdered milk i use for breadmaking which dd2 will drink if i put nesquick and blend it with ice.

OP posts:
trinityrhino · 17/07/2006 12:39

sounds like you shouldn't bother going out hun
try all the other ideas

misdee · 17/07/2006 12:39

alexsmum, not really, for the reasons below. i dont think old george next door is too well himself. i also dont know my neighbours that well as since i mioved here i spend more time at the hospital than here.

OP posts:
alexsmum · 17/07/2006 12:42

i'd just make do with what you've got then hun. the one who has been sick won't need any milk anyway!

misdee · 17/07/2006 12:45

she is annoyed at no milk today. good job i stocked up on fruit juices last week. am diluting them for her and only small cup as well.

she had a high temp and sopre ears/throat saturday, but seemed fine yesterday, but was sick this morning.

OP posts:
alexsmum · 17/07/2006 12:47

sounds a bit ear infection y.
poor thing-nothing worse than ear ache.

has sparkly moved yet by the way?

misdee · 17/07/2006 12:50

nope, not yet
