Sciatica?

Hey all,

I'm in agony. Have had what I assume is sciatica for about a month now. All down bottom and left leg, getting progressively worse over the course of the day, especially when i have been driving. have been to the chiropractor a couple of times, but not feeling much better... Though as it has been worsening over a month perhaps he has at least stalled it....

Any thoughts? Not in the uk so I have to pay a quite a bit of money for healthcare, thus resisting going to the gp though this may be necessary to trigger other referrals. All wisdom appreciated, thanks

Just looking for threads that sound similar to my situation! How are you? I've just had a steroid injection last week for prolapsed disc. I've had sciatica since July, had physio for 6 wks in sept that had no improvement and then referred for MRI. The steriod injection seems to have no effect and seeing consultant Xmas eve. I'd like to think it will all just go away but part of me thinks I just want to have an op to get the bit of disc removed. So fed up (OK when sat but can't walk far or stand for long). What's next for you?

Hi mummy73, sorry to hear you are in the same boat, and hope you get relief soon. My next step is a referral to neurosurgeon, not sure how long that will take
