My 14yr DD has had constant headaches , dizziness and feels sick .This has been going on for 1yr. The GP has given her Nortriptyline 25mg .This makes no difference. She is also under the paediatrician for other iissues The medics say there is nothing serious to be concerned about .Should I be hugely worried?TIA

Has she had all the relevant blood tests to rule out deficiencies and things like thyroid problems? Do they have any idea what is causing it or was she just prescribed the medication to deal with the symptoms because they are unsure of the cause?

I'm sorry she feels so poorly at the moment Thanks

Is she on other medications? Could the headache etc be side effects of those medications?

Could it be coeliac disease or non coeliac gluten sensitivity? Other signs of these could be anaemia, bloating and gut pain, diarrhoea and/or constipation.

Or another food sensitivity? Are the symptoms worse after eating certain foods or at particular times of the day (is there a pattern)?

My daughter age 16 had similar symptoms - first diagnosed as migraines, then CFS/me, then poss thyroid issues and eventually tested for Vitamin B12 and found to be very deficient - now on regular injections (for life) and very much improved. She is also low vitamin D and very low Verritin (stored iron) so is on supplements. Vitamin B12 deficiency symptoms are very similar to CFS/me which makes me very cross that they did not test for this sooner. Good luck with your diagnosis.
