hello i am near sighted. new prescription and my eyes have got worse for the first time in about 6 yrs. I have a slight slight astigmatism in my left eye that has not been corrected or as last time it was the world went weird and i reacted to it.

My last script was left eye -2.50 right -2.25 both are now 0.75 diopter worse so -3.25 and -3.00.

the clarity is good though a little 'in my face' to be honest. Sort of extreme close up. BUT all verticals are dancing side to side and bowing when i move my head side to side. It's very annoying and i feel dizzy. I went back to the place i bought them and they checked they were ok from my script but i have to go back now to the place i had them tested to check the test was ok.

Should i put my old ones back on the ones where live is less sharp but i don't feel like it's all swaying. test is not for 2 weeks.

I had some spectacles that didn't feel right. I put up with them for quite a while before going to another optician who checked them and, they were the right script, but the lenses had some sort of weird curvature or coating on them and they weren't suitable for me. Opticians can dispense specs that aren't suited to you.

If they feel strange then don't put up with them and don't let them fob you off. Get a second opinion if necessary.

I would put your old ones back on for now. I had trouble recently with some new glasses, it turned out that the place where they had gone to be made had somehow completely forgotten to put on the anti reflective coating and that was what was causing my problems with them, I had too much reflecting going on. It will take a while to get used to the new stronger prescription though.

hi thanks. i have been wearing these for about 10 days in the hope i would get used to them, it's fine when i am looking forwards.

The strength of the change could be it, i will only know when i get the retest. I saw someone i don't normally see at my local opticians, and tbh she was a bit of an old dragon lol. I will be seeing my usual one soon.

I will go back tomorrow to where i bought them and check the anti reflective is on. I think it is as I've had glasses before when they hadn't put it on and that was a different sort of 'feeling/effect'

I popped my old ones on earlier, wow they are weak. Yet maybe i shoud go back to them for the time being.

something not right, glasses manufacture does go wrong sometimes. Demand an earlier appointment.

meantime go back to the others, but you probably shouldn't drive with them - do the numberplate test.

thankyou, i went back today to the place i bought the actual glasses, and they will retest me this week. They are an independent opticians, and so helpful. I got my test at a big chain, but it was only a small shop, and didn't have many glasses in at the time.

Indepedent thinks they are prob too strong.

Glad you took them back. Years and years ago I had some spec savers ones and the astigmatism correction was just wrong.

Anything off vertical, especially posters in fancy print just blurred.

They retested and gave me some more. No problem, mistakes happen.
