following a routine mammogram (age 50) she was called back for an abnormal result for a biopsy and told 50/50 it could be cancer . Thank fully it wasn't but it took 4 weeks from start to finish to find out. it is calcification from blocked ducts - don't know what this is?
I feel so sad that she couldn't share her agony and at the same time am relived she has nothing wrong.
If you are called make sure you find time for the appt and don't put it off.

I'm glad that your sister got the all clear.

My sister kept it to herself too. Unfortunately it turned out to be cancer (in remission for the past 6 years). My sister is a very private person and didn't want to discuss it until she knew what she was facing. I would probably be the same.

I went through BC and the whole treatment a few years ago. I do remember the feeling that as soon as I told people my body was going to become "public property", so only told my nearest and dearest about the initial tests until I knew for certain.
I also lost my sister very suddenly to a rare cancer a year ago.
I am overjoyed that your sister has been given the all clear, but quite understand that you are sad she couldn't share the worry with you.
From my experience all I can say is there are, and always will be, things we don't understand. We just have to hang on to the good things, in your case, that your sister is well, and go forward from there.
You obviously love and care lots for your sister. She will know that.
