Typing this on my phone in bed, woken up this morning with the most horrendous vertigo. I can't move without feeling like I'm going to vomit.

Have had to crawl on my hands and knees to get to the toilet just so I could change my tampon Hmm. Now back in bed trying my hardest not to move but feeling so sick Confused.

My sisters are up for the wknd so they are taking ds out for the day and dh is off to the chemist to see if he can get something over the counter for the sickness. Can anyone recommend anything?

There is no way I'm going to be able to get to the walk in centre today.

My sis had this once on waking up. She took her tablets for Migraine as felt similar but without the headache. She said it helped. She had to keep her eyes shut as happened when she opened them.

How are you feeling this morning.. are the tablets helping?

Tanfastic · 05/12/2013 14:00

Ok thanks Gamerchick. Going to try and wean myself off the tablets soon to see how I'm really feeling as they just mask the symptoms so I'm not sure if I'm better IYSWIM.

@Tanfastic long shot that you eill get this x but when did u feel better x

Hey! Just seen this!

I can't remember, I think it was a few days.

However I've come a long way since then! I still suffer from positional vertigo but over the last ten years or so I've managed it really well. There's a video on YouTube where someone shows you how to do a home version of the epley manoeuvre (kind of but it's a bit like a headstand!). If I feel it coming on I do this and it completely puts me right almost instantaneously.

I'd been okay for about 3 years but last weekend had a terrible episode where I vomited after turning over in bed. After taking some anti sickness meds and doing these head exercises I was back to normal by lunchtime.

@Tanfastic thankyou sooo much for replying :)
ive had this for a month now since having the flu!!! Getting soo fed up with it! Ill keep taking the tablets but when will it end 😭 xx what caused yours ? Can you remmeber? Xx

Tanfastic · 03/12/2023 23:13

I don't know what caused mine, it started in my early thirties and was horrendous when I was pregnant.

My mum and sister get it too so might be a link there.

Try the exercises, you will feel horrendous when you do them but they really work.
