Anti-oxidants, any recommendations or advice on nutritionists?

Hi,

I know that there is minimal evidence for anti-oxidants especially for the pancreatic condition I have. However anything is worth a shot and I dont think it will do any harm even if it does no good.

Im thinking about anti-oxidants, and have been told in particular, vit a,c,d,e,k and selenium. i hope that is right. Has anyone any experience of taking these, recommendations for brands etc? Alternatively can anyone recommend any excellent nutritionists etc who might be able to help? especially if pancreatic related?

thanks

I've done some research but I'm not medically qualified...
vit a you need to be careful with as not good to overdose on it.
vit C, you can take loads, effervescent tablets are high dose.
selenium I found one in boots by wassen called selenium extra with vit c and e added.

then I came across some stuff on the internet which said that you should ask for vitamin D3 and take it alongside vitamin K2 for best effect. now of course that could be jumbo jumbo, but I decided to go along with it and found some In my local independent health food shop.

I've not been popping all these vitamins long enough to say if they are doing me any good, but I am feeling better, but not got same problems as you, I am trying to boost my immune system.

The best anti oxidant, Glutathione, is the one we produce ourselves. Unfortunately you cannot take it as a supplement and natural levels vary between individuals. However you can boost its production. Whole foods are best particularly brassicas (green veg such as broccoli).
You can get whole food capsules where the food is freeze dried, powdered and taken in capsule form.
