Hi, just wondered if anyone has had/is having FEC-T treatment. I've had 3 doses of FEC and having my first Docetaxel (T) today. Are the side effects the same as with the FEC or will it be drastically different?
Not looking forward to it!

I had 3 fec and 3 tax, last one last week yay ! I've been quite lucky all the way through and not had too many side effects, tax is meant to be less sicky than fec though I never suffered with that. With tax I've had achy legs, oral thrush, mouth ulcers and been really tired, nothing unbearable. I was terrified of it had heard such horror stories but it wasn't as bad as I imagined
If you come over to the tamaxofen thread there are lots of us going through it or have been through it, you'd be very welcome
Lots of luck

Try posting on the tamoxigang thread. I've only had T so can't compare!

Thanks for your replies. This is my 4th of 6 treatments so 2/3rds of the way through. I've been pretty lucky as well, mainly the nausea and diarrhoea in the first 10 days after treatment, and the tiredness which seems to get worse each time. By the 3rd week I feel pretty normal and have to try to cram everything in that week, before starting over again.

Just off to my appointment, this is the 6 hour one, so will go on the tamoxifen thread later.

Thanks again.

6 hours gosh ! Hope it all went well and that you've got your feet up relaxing by now Smile

Wasn't 6 hours after all. Turns out they thought I was having Herceptin today, so thought I had an hour treatment and 5 hours obs for reactions, but there was a mix up and I had docetaxel instead. I was still there for 4 hours tho - one of those days! Feel much better than I usually do after FEC tho so hope it continues.

malt congrats on finishing your chemo, what a relief for you. D you have to have radiotherapy? I've got 3 weeks of it after I've finished chemo.

Sorry only just seem this. I did wonder what they were doing for 6 hours Grin
Thanks it is a relief to have finished chemo
I've got to have a node clearance op as when I had my lumpectomy the sentinel node biopsy wasn't clear, then radiotherapy after that
Hope you're still ok and don't get too many side effects

I had a small (2cm) lump removed and 2 lymph nodes. It hadn't spread to any other tissue thank God. Got to have radiotherapy for 3 weeks in Jan, then finished. But I've signed up to a research study into a vaccine so will have 6 jabs over 6 months, then twice a year for 3 years, then be monitored for 7 years. That's what swung it for me - I'll be scanned and checked every year, MRI, CT, mammograms, all organs and bones. I can come off it at any time if I want to, so nothing to lose.
