Nutrition talks - what topics would you find interesting?

I'm a dietitian, and have recently gone freelance after 12 years in the NHS (to fit in around my 3 kids).
I'd like to do some free talks at my local GP surgery, and would really like to hear from people what they would find interesting. I've experience in most areas (infants to elderly, and everything in between!)

What nutrition topics, if anything, would engage you and tempt you along?

Here are some of my ideas:
Eating for heart health
What does a healthy meal look like? Nutrition tips and easy recipes
Food allergies and intolerances explained
What to eat to lower cholesterol and blood pressure
Helping your IBS
Nutrition for pregnancy and breastfeeding
Diet and the menopause
Help, my child won't eat vegetables!
Optimising your child's nutrition

Would really appreciate your thoughts or suggestions! x

bash the myths. Spread the word that low-fat food is full of sugar, that there's no such thing as a detox drink, and that losing weight is a matter of input versus energy expended.

explain who needs supplements and who doesn't.

Thanks special.......hadn't thought of the 'myths'. That would be a great topic. Myths like: dairy is fattening, nuts are bad for you, eggs raise your cholesterol, carbohydrates make you fat etc
Supplements a big topic that could definitely be included. A very confusing subject for many as there is so much conflicting information out there.

I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. The information I found was confusing and contradicting....how about a guide to what to eat for a healthy diabetes diet?

HollyMadison · 16/11/2013 13:48

What about "Help! My child won't eat" (not just won't eat vegetables).

Thank you for your responses x
Breadandjam - is it confusing and contradictory info about carbohydrates, and whether to eat in abundance or restrict? Did you see a dietitian when you were diagnosed? Often even health professionals will contradict each other. Will def consider type 2 diabetes talk as if it is confusing for you there will be many, many feeling the same.
Holly - good one! Probably very common..........I've three kids of my own and have used every trick in the book to manipulate encourage them to eat
