Cerazette - the one where I thought it was going so well.

Ok, so I've recently started taking cerazette (2 weeks ago) after being on cilest for the past 5 years or thereabouts. I am trialling it as I was getting throat infections on a 6 weekly basis (which turned out to be mouth ulcers in throat) and suffering terrible (headaches, sick feeling) after a glass of wine, and Doctor thought that cilest could be exaccerbaing hangovers (must add, that I am not a heavy drinker).

All was well with Cerazette until last night/today (after dtd with DH). Have had light bleeding since.

Is this normal? Will this stop eventualy? Or am I going to be subject to this for the forseeable future?

I will visit GP if it carries on for a few days, and will probably switch back to cilest (sore throats and hangovers are a doddle to deal with in comparison to this), but was hoping that as both my sisters are on cerazette, and have no issues, I would be ok. Or am I the one in 3...

Any advice would be appreciated.

x

I took around 3 months for me to settle on cerazette but it was so worth it didn't have any periods for years after the first few months I would try and stick with it.

When I first went on cerazette I had light spotting for the first few months, then it settled down. Periods stayed lighter though!

I had bleeding for about a month. It was a worry, particularly as I was taking cerazette to try to stop my endometriosis getting worse, but it settled down and I have been bleed free for about 3 years now.

Completely normal. I was on cerazette for 7 years and it was brill.

Thanks all. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Will persevere. Have to go back to drs in 3 months to get renewal on prescription anyway. So will give it 3m. And see how it goes.
