Leg pain help!! Do chiropractors sort out legs as well as back problems? Are they tosh or actually great?

A very minor issue compared to a lot of problems but I am so uncomfortable :(

How is it I can put my own foot in my mouth (literally) but I can't bend forward and touch my toes? I have such short hamstrings :( all the joints in my right leg are aching and the muscles all down the backs of the leg are cramped. Particularly behind my knee, deep in my hip, and a v tender calf muscle. Dull ache in back of thigh and top of bum too. Leg looks fine, no redness or anything.

I've been stretching and trying to click my joints for days, and had a hot water bottle applied for hours on end but my leg is still sooooo sorrrrre and I don't know why!!! Shall I got to a chiropractor?? It's expensive and I don't know whether they're hocus pocus or not? Also my toes are usually numb and I normally get a daily heart palpitation or two so maybe it's a circulation thing?

Does anyone have any advice? Other than 'go to the doctor'. I always feel like a hypochondriac when I go to the GP, plus it takes forever to get an appointment and would rather skip the GP and just be clicked back into place by a chiropractor if they're good!

Left leg is fine touch wood! It's normal for right knee to ache/need to click like this, but has never been for this long and has never affected whole of leg!

Meant to say, am a bit worried about someone messing around with my spine, don't want to be made paralysed!!! Am clearly paranoid.

Will try some yoga in the morning to see if that helps, too.

How about a physio? They have further training and can be really excellent. The evidence for physio is also stronger than for chiropractic, which has some evidence for lower back pain but negligible elsewhere. (NHS summary here)

Depending on your GP and area you may be able to get a referral, too.

Well I really rate chiropractors. Have had great results. Look up proper registered chiropractors in your area and go for a consultation. They seem expensive but I have found that I get results so well worth the money.

Yes go to yr gp&ask for referral to physio
Are you hypermobile?soumfs like it if you can put yr foot in yr mouth!
My dd has this&her legs&feet ache&hurt alot sometimes though it is both legs
At least if you go to gp thatll start you off on the road to a diagnosis with blood tests referrals etc

Physio. Especially one who does sports rehab type stuff.

Physio rather than chiropractor. I am not saying avoid chiros but this sounds more muscular than skeletal, so a chiro would be pointless.

Also chiros tend to always need follow up adjustments, even after the problem areas have been fixed so it's not just a short term expense. There are reasons for regular adjustments though, but it can be expensive to have that ongoing cost.

Sounds like piriformis syndrome which I have. Get a tennis ball and roll your backside around on it to help work it out.

Ooh thanks, will look up hypermonility and poriformis syndrome - never heard of it! Thanks for help all :)
