Hiya
Can anyone tell me of something really good to put on a bite. I was on the school playing field in flip flops and I felt something uncomfortable, looked down and saw a little beetle type of thing betweend my 2nd and 3rd toes. It bit me and drew bood!!! Now the area around is swollen and puffy, so any good advice would be really appreciated.

You can buy bite sticks which contain ammonia to neutralise the bite. Not sure what else to recommend

Lavender oil, or soak in warm salty water, or maybe tea tree oil solution.

I would get this looked at by your GP asap as you may have been bitten by a tick. Hopefully its not a tick bite but you need this looked at in a medical sense.

Did you fully remove the bug, you need to ensure that nothing of this bug remains in your skin.

well I think I removed it all, I sort of flicked it away and looked and saw the blob of blood. It does feel sort of lumpy. Maybe I will go to walk-in centre in the morning. I'll try soaking it and see what happens. Thanks ladies.

I heard surgical spirit is good if it is a tick... but yopu better bite on something when you put it on!

Would visit the walk in medical centre in the morning regardless. Better to be safe than sorry.

Here comes the possible TMI bit but forewarned is forearmed:-

Flicking it away if it was a tick that bit may not have removed it completely (sometimes the head remains in the skin). The best thing to use to remove a tick with is fine tweezers. A firm pull upwards would get it all out. Surgical spirit is of no real benefit with regards to removing ticks.
