Has anybody had labiaplasty on the NHS?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could please share their experiences of labiaplasty on the NHS and who performed your procedure? I've been trying to find out from NHS hospitals who does them and it's been impossible to get answers from their staff, so I'm doing my own research!

Avril.

Not funded here

Why should such an operation be available on the NHS?
If we are talking about corrective surgery eg. Removing scar tissue after an episiotomy or fixing things after a prolapse then I would imagine that the NHS do a pretty good job and that any woman requiring such surgery should be allowed it on the NHS.
If on the other hand we are talking about making it all look pretty or returning it to virginal tightness state then I don't think the NHS should be funding such surgery.

Some info here on when it can be funded

Is it for medical reasons OP?

AvrilPK · 31/10/2013 16:43

Forgot to add it's not for cosmetic reasons. The procedure is for medical reasons.

Avril.

Some people do have it done just for the hell of it because they want a nice neat looking fanny - hence it is offered by cosmetic surgery clinics. However, I do appreciate that some people have it done for medical reasons hence I posted a link to one of the country's PCTs in the hope that it might be helpful to the OP.

There is an article here on it and it suggests that it has become increasingly common to have the procedure on the NHS. The article is a couple of years old though so with recent cutbacks it might be less available now.
