start with athletes foot in August on my foot. It would not clear up with over the counter powder and spread over most of one foot and then the other.
Went to GP who prescribed Lamsil which cleared it up in a week.
Then my hands started to itch. Noticed small round clusters of tiny blisters that itch like hell. Googled and self diagnosed ringworm which according to Internet is same fungus as athletes foot. So used the Lamsil cream on my hands. All its done id burn off the skin snd left me with dry sore scabby hands that still itch.
This week I have similar blisters by my nose on my face snf a patch on my arm
Also have had itchy feet again. I just can't get on top of this fungus ay the moment and it's getting me down now.
I have been quite unwell recently after an accident and am only just getting back to normal but am very very run down.
Van I buy a tablet to just get this fungus out of my system. Something like Canesten or similar? Creams are not working snd this iz seriously getting me down especially as it is now on my faceSad Sad .

Help I just don't know what to do as it seems to be spreading everywhere. Sad Sad

You need to go back to your GP and ask for a course of oral anti-fungal meds. Be warned - the course is long. I'm half-way through a two month course of fluconozole for a fungal infection on my foot that I've had since January Shock - got fobbed off for months and eventually when nearly half the skin on my foot had come off I saw a great GP who was horrified and prescribed oral medication straight away. I am just seeing an improvement now, but it still hasn't gone properly - so I'm still taking the pills and hoping. Fungal infections are insidious and can hang around - they are therefore notoriously difficult to treat and - as I now know - over the counter creams are rarely enough to whack them once and for all. Good luck!

Thank you.

I went to Boots yesterday and they would not sell me anything because the skin has split and there could now be secondary infection??? or something. They suggested I go back to the GP. TBH I am not convinced she knew what she was on about because she kept saying you dont dont get blisters with Athletes foot/ringworm and I said well I did on my feet and the GP confirmed it was Athletes food but she was not having any of it.

I have an appointment for early next week and will have to just put up with soreness and itchiness until then.

You need to see your GP again - it sounds a bit less like ringworm with the spread you describe and there are lots of causes of itchy blisters on hands and feet for example pompholyx eczema.

If it is a fungal infection then you need prescription meds so the pharmacist was right to direct you back to the GP.
