had my smear test friday with practice nurse which also included mot - weight check etc.
My blood pressure was v low .she advised I may be dehydrated so to take on more fluids.
have been feeling under the weather for a week or so previous which may explain it but am worried even after taking on more fluids i still feel a bit dizzy/unwell.
She also said i may be anaemic so if i didnt improve in a couple of weeks to see the dr.
Has anyone else had similar problems ?
I just dont want to sit on this for long if there is something I can/ should be doing ?

Sigh.

Low blood pressure is a Good Thing.
It protects you against strokes and heartattacks and general wearing out of your internal organs as you get older.

Some people are more prone to low Bp than others (I have low Bp to) and at times it can make you feel a bit lightheaded when standing for a longer period of time or when getting up too quick.
It does NOT make you feel unwell.

If you are not right, then see your GP.

And in the meantime, yes, eat and drink regularly. A bit of caffeine ie tea or coffee can perk you up shortterm. And learn to not jump out of the bed and hit the floor running. Because you might just hit the floor iykwim

pacific I get the impression thst you are slightly irritated by my post.
That wasnt my intention I was simply relaying my experience with a hcp & seeking any advice from people who have had similar experience.as this is new to me. & I am a little worried.

And Pacific has told you NOT to worry. Low blood pressure is unlikely to impact on you except to make you feel a little woozy if you don't keep yourself well hydrated. I suspect you feel unwell now because you've been told something is out of the norm. I have the same problem. Had a chest infection thing a few months ago and by the time I got to the GP I was convinved I had lung cancer. Once she'd listened to my chest and told me it was fine I started feeling a fair bit better. Try and put this out of your mind and make a note on your calendar to consider in ten days how you feel. If you feel ill then go to GP, otherwise forget about it.

No, I am not irritated with you. Apologies if that's how I came across.
I am irritated with HCP (I am one btw) who make this out to be a problem. 'Tis a good thing overall, but can cause some rather unpleasant symptoms. I have fainted many a time and only grew out of it in my mid/late 20s.
I suppose your nurse could've handled telling you a bit better.
