Hi,

Every time I shave my legs I get quite a few in-grown hairs which lead to unsightly red bumps and uneven skin (hence cutting myself the next time I shave). Some of the hairs correct thmselves, but others, I have to "remove" from beneath the skin myself. At the moment virtually half the hairs are in-grown and my legs are very itchy and sore, I cannot shave and have horrible red bumps everywhere. Can anyone give me any advice, am thinking of getting waxed, but have heard this makes in-grown hairs worse, does anyone know if this is true! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi you can buy lots of different shaving creams to prevent ingrowing hairs from places like Boots and Superdrug. They can be a little pricey but they last a long time. HTH

Hi, I had my legs waxed a fortnight ago (at 34 weeks) and the hairs came out like a dream! Apparently it helps to moisturise a lot! The waxer also noticed an in-grown hair which she said she couldn't remove with tweezers but that I should try exfoliation (still not actually got it out yet as bump's in the way!). I have been waxing/sugaring for a few years now, and IMO it's worth the in-between stage of hair growth, as it removes the dead skin from the surface and feels sooo smooth afterwards, plus the hair is not as noticeable/coarse as it was, and in some places on my legs it is now actually hair-free! I wouldn't recommend you try it at the moment, however, if your legs are itchy and sore as I think it would only aggravate it at this stage. I would get some unfragranced body lotion to cool your skin and gently massage your legs - this might help the circulation and make the bumps less noticeable. Hope this helps!
