Anyone else have wonky periods?

I had my last period on 16th April. Not pregnant as fas as I know. Tested with Clearblue about 3 times!

Normal cycle used to be about 30 days but lately it's been getting longer (usually between 35 and 40 days). Sometimes I skip a month but this is a bit long even for me.

Now today I have very light bleeding. Not enough to wear proper protection, just a panyliner.

Weird...

And very annoying when ttc!

Any bleeding between periods ought to be checked out by your GP to establish the underlying cause.

If your cycle has changed as yours has done it may be worth having a blood test done to see what your hormone levels are like. If you do have such a test done both LH and FSH need to be looked at and levels compared. Hormonal imbalances can cause period cycles to lengthen.

mine's been getting longer, too.

BUT am not TTC and have completed my family, so i really don't care if it's wonky or if i skip it - i wish!

So I might be hormonally imbalanced...

It's been since I had my coil out in Jan, really. I thought it didn't affect your cycle. just a standard copper coil - no hormones.

I have had wonky periods for years now - before during & after TTC. Usually 35-50 days cycle; I had it checked out once when had not had a period for 90 days, and I had raised LH levels. Consultant also thought that I may have had PCOS. DS1 was quick to conceive; current pg took about 6 months.

HTH.

PS Had to go pvte to get tests done quickly altho if you are >35 & TTC NHS might get it done for you.

mine never the same either, differ from between 30 and 40 days and yes very confusing when ttc. But thats normal for me anyway.

Agree with others and would go for blood test and check hormones. I got checked quickly by my own gp no problem and she even checked and calculated best dates for ttc and was pregnant my following cycle. Best of luck!

Bleeding still light today. I wonder if I should count this as a real period?

As someone else suggested this could be Polycystic Over Syndrome. Other symptoms are weight gain and extra hair in places you don't want it such as sprouting some on your chin etc. You need to see the doc, PCOS might sound a bit scary but it is very common and is no barrier to ttc generally but might take a bit longer.
