Ive recently been diagnosed with ostroartritis which i have to have physio for.plus i have ibs&am having investigations done for bleeding in between periods
I MAY be perimenopausal!

Well with me they weren't sure, but certainly there is a thyroid connection, as when my levels are low my palps are worse. I also get them with caffeine, annoyingly.

babyjane67 · 07/11/2013 10:04

Well ive had blood test results today&all normal!
Cholesterol is3.4which is good apparently&im very surprised at that considering how much choc&crap i eat!lol
So its not thyroid,anaemia etc
Ive also had my app through for24hr ecg which is on22nd november
So we see what happens with that!

Had3bad bouts of papls.the one i went in wiyh had gone on for over an hr making me feel bit weird
It lasted over2hrs as it went on in hosp
Had the heavy aching in centre of my chest&bit of pain in left arm
Pin&needles in left hand
Slight breathlessness
Ecg was normal though&so were blood tests(when they eventually came back!)

Good grief, I've only just read this thread. While there are lots of possible explanations for your symptoms many would raise some suspicions of a heart problems including heart attack and are most certainly not to be ignored. In fact if you'd called NHS Direct or 111 while they were happening they'd have send round an ambulance on blue lights.

Heavy ache/feeling of pressure in the chest/left arm plus some difficulty in breathing = dial 999.

Very glad it turns out not to be that and you are getting treatment, but please, if you do get the symptoms again and they don't pass off very quickly either get yourself to an A&E or just dial 999.

Google superventricular tachaecardia (SVT). This may be what they're referring to. I had it badly from the age of 15 to 28 when I eventually had a treatment called radio wave ablation where they use radio waves to burn away the extra nerve circuit which is causing the tachaecardia. It was miraculous! I went from having several episodes a day, to absolutely none! The treatment changed my life.

babyjane67 · 09/11/2013 09:58

Purplewithred a&e dr said to stay under gp&have all the tests done
He said the chest pain may be stress but have to see what the investigations come up with
None of the palps sjowed up on ecg.it was normal evwm though i felt them!
Littlefish did yr prob show up on ecg or did you have to have other tests which showed it?
My eldest dd whos27had lots of probs after having a traumatic birth
She had7ecgs&all were normal but it was the ecjcardiogram that showed up the tachycrdia she has
Shes been on betablockers ever since!
We do have a history of heart probs in our family

It's so long ago, I can't remember if they showed up on ECG or not. However, I was really lucky and had the start of an episode as I was walking out of the consultant's office after my first appointment. He could see that I was completely calm and that it had started from no-where. Until that point, the GP kept telling me it was panic attacks which I knew wasn't right.

babyjane67 · 09/11/2013 11:42
