My lovely FIL has just been told he has this after a routine blood test, unfortunately he got told via a letter through the post confirming it and his own doctor hadn't even told him.
He suffers from mental health problems and anxiety and this would have been a massive shock and worry for him.

Luckily he has had no symptoms and on further investigation they are happy that he seems to be ok.
I've been reading up that one of the symptoms is tiredness. He is very reluctant to do anything and often just sits and watches tv all day. We just assumed it was a combination of his medication and him being a lazy sod but it must be this!
My friends grandmother was diagnosed with CLL and she lived a good few years, so I'm assuming he will too. He is 70 next year.

Can anyone on here give me some more first hand information please as we are quite worried.

Sorry to hear that OP but please don't be too alarmed. CLL is one of those often indolent cancers where people die with it and not of it, although of course it can sometimes turn aggressive. Often no treatment is necessary but rather watchful waiting. And modern treatments, if necessary, keep it under control very well generally.

My friend's husband had it for 30 years and then died of something completely unrelated.

Cancer Research UK's fact pages will give you some more info.
