TSH levels

Hello!

Would anyone interpret a TSH level of 2.7 being a bit high? I have had several symptoms since my baby was 4 months old and now shes 19 months old and doctors are saying my TSH level is a normal range yet i am having symptoms similar (I'm not saying i have it) to thyroid problems.
Whereas articles online state that anything over 2.5 is borederline so could my symptoms be thyroid related?

my symptoms are,

dizziness.
excessive tiredness
body twitches especially on my mouth and eyelids
sore eyes
sensitive eyes sensitive to bright lights
weight gaining more than usually would
excessive sweating with minimal exertion
extreme panic
constant sinus problems
my body overheats and my face is flushed and becomes so hot
Gritty eyes
racing thoughts
unable to relax at times
agitation
feeling the need to stare into space (i find myself doing this a lot)

Not really. Underactive Thyroid usually makes you feel cold not hot, lethargic, laid back, slow brain. However, some people have different symptoms.
Your symptoms are how I was with an overactive Thyroid gland but I lost loads of weight despite eating for my life constantly.

A hormone imbalance of oestragen can also give you hot flushes as in the menopause. Also high blood pressure, but assume your GP tested that?

You may find the information given here is useful re blood tests for the thyroid:-

www.thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testing/thyroid_blood_tests.html

Infact this website is well worth looking at anyway as it goes into detail about hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. I would think there is something amiss with you with regards to the thyroid gland.

You will need to be persistent in order to get answers; some GPs are simply not up to speed when it comes to such issues.

with hashimotos, tsh can move up and down so you might need to test a couple of times before you caught it at a high level, but you can get an antibodies test to see if you have high levels of antibodies.

i wonder though if you know your ferritin and b12 levels as it could be a deficiency in one of those

thank you all :-)
They tested quite a lot of things, i will have to find the other results in my filing cabinet. They tested the menopause thing but im 25 so hoping im not lol. They said that's normal. I am gonna have this blood test and if if doesnt show anything i will demand more tests because i cant go on like this. There moments when i am very hot (with activity) but at night i can be cold. I kinda shiver inside of my body if you get what i mean....its weird.

Just wish i knew what was wrong with me.

Just had a repeat blood test and now my TSH is 1.54

So in 8 months it's gone from 2.7 to 1.54 is this normal?

It may be normal for you. TSH is not the most accurate test anyway, but 2.7 was a bit on the high side.

I'd get it tested again in 6 months, just to be on the safe side.
