I was doing a self breast check last night and because ive always had a bit of diacharge when I squeeze I always check this too. There is usually a clear or milky discharge and only a small amount. Last night the left was normal but the right one had lots of green thick discharge coming out of it.
I saw my gp this morning and she checked and there were no lumps but also no more discharge so im to leave it alone and see her in a couple days f weeks and if theres any then she will dip it to check for blood.
Im understandably anxious and wondered if anyone has had this and what the outcome was.

No ,that needs checking i had this www.ruh.nhs.uk/patients/services/breast_unit/common_problems/duct_ectasia.asp which turned into an infection and then an abscess that needed 12 weeks of strong antibiotics to clear it.

See another doctor.

Forgot to add mine was the thick green colour as well.

That doesn't sound right to leave it. It does sound like an infection. I had a milky discharge, dd was 16 mths. I didn't breast feed. I had a bit of a lump. It turned out it was an intreaductal papilloma.,if left it could turn cancerous. They say when self checking if any unusual discharge it needs to be investigated. I wouldn't trust that Dr saying to wait & see.

Unless your GP checked with an ultrasound she cannot possibly say there were no lumps!

You need to push for an referral to a breast clinic. I know its hard but try not to worry,a few days shouldn't make much difference. Having said that obviously if you start to feel fluey or have redness/swelling/heat/pain in breast then get medical advice, a&e if that's all there is.

Are you staying in the UK or going abroad?

That is good , you will be able to see someone if it becomes a problem.

Look out for any redness, heat and flu like symptoms.

I would also get an appointment with another doctor as soon as you get back.

Update
saw the gp today, theres been no more discharge but she's going to refer me to see a breast specialist because its not normal for me and is only on the one side. She did stress its probably nothing, maybe a blocked duct. In the mean time if there's any blood or I feel any lumps then im to go back and they will do an urgent referral.

If I squeeze, I get a brownish discharge on one side.

My gp referred me for a mammogram which was all clear.
