Arthritis and raynaulds advice please

Having finally accepted that the symptoms were getting too much I went to see a GP. I am dreading the winter as my elbows are already painful and my fingers keep going white in the cold ( not that it's been that cold here in the south ). I left the doctors with a prescription for paracetamol Shock. WTF is that going to do for it?
Feeling fobbed off and fed up. Any advice/tips for coping? My neck is starting to sore too and I am feeling low.

How awful, Fanjango. Not at all helpful from the GP.
I don't know much about arthritis, so I'm sorry that I can't help you with that.
I have Raynauds.
This year has not been so cold yet, but I have not had any attacks yet. Last year I had raynauds attacks at much higher temperatures and also when it wasn't even cold but I was tired or stressed. (white, yellow dead fingers, which would later turn blue and purple)

The only thing I can think of that may have had this result is that I am exercising a lot more than I used to. Three times a day I run up and down the stairs until I am totally out of breath (which doesn't take long as I am overweight and not very sporty).

Of course that may not be of use for you if you have arthritis as well, but maybe there is some milder type of exercise that you could do? Swimming for instance? Your doctor should really have been more helpful.

Thanks for the reply Flufflie. Can't do the stair running, bad ankles, but will look into exercise I can do. It's harder to exercise in the winter as the joints get stiffer but can see the benefits to the circulation. Smile
