Panicking- dd has eaten some of a plant...

I THINK it's a kelanchoe (not an expert though) and she has eaten at least one flower. Any urgent advice please? She is 2 and will only say she likes eating flowers

Know nothing about plants.
Do you?
Have you any you know are poisonous?
How many are there that it could potentially be???
Collect a sample of each separately and ring NHS Direct.

call nhs direct and ask to speak to someone at the Poisons Information Service

Thanks, ahve just foudn ou that it is deff Kalanchoe and am trying to find out whether or not it is poisonous. We're on holiday atm and didn't even clock the plants...

Try local garden centre - they keep a list of what is dangerous.

Go to casualty - internet says possibly toxic, causes vomiting etc.

if you go to A&E, don't forget to take a sample of the plant with you (leaves and flower) and try and find out which bit she ate

Spoke to NHS Direct and the roots are toxic- flowers are toxic in large quantities but I'm sure she only ate one flower so she should be OK- they did say she might have tummy upset but not too likely, more likely if she'd eaten ALL the flowers on the plant. We were in the garden centre today and she said she likes eating flowers- if only I'd had a bit of a chat then... Think the only effects are gastric
