Back pain arghh

Not really anything anyone can do, just so frustrated at being in constant pain and seeing things that need to be done everywhere! Have tasked hubby with some of them today but he's but he's back to work tomorrow and quite worried about being alone in the house with my 7mth old as picking him up is very painful/dangerous. Sadly I can't go and camp out at toddler groups either as he has chicken pox! Having a cold as well is the last straw as coughing and sneezing feel like they are going to paralyse me. Sorry self indulgent rant over now - thought it might be cathartic.

Can you get your husband to set up a 'camp' for you in one room downstairs with everything you need for you and the baby? Keep all changing things etc on the floor to minimise lifting. All baby food/ feeds prepped and ready to go.

Can you beg a friend who has had CP over to help? Sounds pretty like an emergency. Poor you.

Depending on how awful your back is can you call the dr out this eve to get you proper pain killers. Can't emphasise how reasonable this would be.

Worst case, your DP calls work and says there's a domestic crisis and he needs time off...

Really sounds grim. Hope you are both better soon.

I'd take painkillers every four hours max dose to build up an accumulative effect and stick on a heat pad as they can help.

Thank you for your replies. This is the only situation I regret bf as I know the muscle relaxing pain killers cant be taken! I have messaged couple of friends to see if they could do the sch run for me if its no better. Failing that I might just drive to sch car park and shout for help from there!

Good idea to try and get everything downstairs inc a safe place to put him down to sleep.

Thanks again its nice to know people care

I would suggest you call the GP surgery tomorrow and ask for a telephone consultation there will be painkillers you can take.

My best friend when my back spasms is my trusty hottie, honestly as good as tramadol!

It is improving a bit today, and my Mum has just had the baby for an hour so I could lie down. Just got to remember not to do too much too soon. Thank you
