I have a calamine and witch hazel cream. by Sure Sheild.

I think it was from one of the bargin chemist chains like semi chem or body care, but they do exsist.

Found it easier to put lotion on mine by giving him a piece of cotton wool on it too to "do his own tummy" while I did the rest of his body, seemedto work! Also made it into a "mummy is going to tickle your spots" game

Skribble · 26/06/2006 09:57

AH yes it might be easier dabbing lotion on to itchy spots than trying to rub a cream on. Messy yes but perhaps easier.

CarlyP · 26/06/2006 09:58

will try to make it a game. but he is covered head to toe. worse than my 2.5 yo who had it 2wks ago.

they are everywhere. hes in so much pain. calpol is helping and hes in bed now.

will look for the cream later

thanks

Piriton anti histiamine is also very good for chicken pox. (you take it orally rather than dab on the spots though!)

yes you can - mine much preferred it - it was not so cold, and they could dab it on themselves .

My twins have just got to the scabby stage - they had it much worse than their sibling who tehy caught it off. Piriton helped, cool baths, and also calgel which we put on the ones in their mouths so that they could eat.

thank you. a trip to boots and tesco needed!!!

can recommend boots own calamine & glycerine cream, used it on ds when he had the pox, he was only 7 weeks old at the time. it dries so it stays on the spots, some of the other creams we tried didn't dry so just ended up all over the place

CarlyP · 26/06/2006 10:52

thanks lucykate. will be popping out lATER TO BUY UP PIRITON, CALAMINE CREAM AND OATMEAL!
