spacedonkey · 22/06/2006 20:30

RTKangaMummy · 22/06/2006 20:30

I think Sloane Square is the nearest tube and then a 5-10 minute walk, so public transport might not be the best option. Parking would be very limited there I should think If no-one on mn knows I'd call the hospital to ask how much parking there is

RTKangaMummy · 22/06/2006 20:34

here is the map it is the FULHAM WING

parking at most hospitals is appaling. sometimes i have to go round harefield 5times to get a space, then if idisabled one comes up i use tyhat then take peter out somehwre in the car

RTKangaMummy · 22/06/2006 20:36

I don't like going on trains really prefer to drive

OP posts:
misdee · 22/06/2006 20:36

thats not too bad. i'd go by tube and walk it.

RTKangaMummy · 22/06/2006 20:39

But I guess we will have to go by tube

was hoping someone would know of a secret parking area

OP posts:
misdee · 22/06/2006 20:40

no such luck. from my vast experience of hoispitals, the car parks are always full on a weekday (am assuming this is for your ds clinic appointment?), and the surround streets are even worse.

RTKangaMummy · 22/06/2006 20:42

Yes on Monday morning and I think it will take several hours for all the tests etc.

OP posts:
misdee · 22/06/2006 20:44

urgh, it'll be manic parking wise. just go on the tube, and maybe stop off somewhere nice afterwards?

good luck, hope it all goes well.

RTKangaMummy · 22/06/2006 20:47

Thanks misdee it is with the electrocardiophysiologists so am not really sure what all the tests will be but have been told it will last several hours

You can easily walk to the hospital from South Kensington Station. It took us about 10 minutes to walk there. There is no parking to speak of around there at all and what little there is is primarily permit related for residents.

Come out of South Ken station and take the other exit (not the one marked Museums). You will come to the main road and you'll see a Carluccio's (nice restaurant that) opposite. You want to walk past that restaurant on that side of the road.

Kings Road is only a short distance away from there too and apart from the shops there is a nice department store for children called Daisy and Tom.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 22/06/2006 20:49

The map you posted up is very good and would strongly recommend you take that with you (or a London A to Z).

RTKangaMummy · 22/06/2006 20:51

AttilaTheMeerkat Thanks for the info

I guess that is what we will be doing then it will be too stressful trying to find a parking space and therefore being late
