Feel sick all the time

I have a four month old DD2 and keep feeling sick all the time. Had a week of feeling so sick I just wanted to lie flat, dizzy, nauseous. Never actually vomited but just feeling really sick. I lost seven pounds as could hardly eat anything. That was two weeks ago and it slowly got better. Now I've woken up and feel sick again. In the third trimester I had some bad vomiting episodes, one a week before she was born led to me being hospitalised for dehydration, then I had the same again the day before going into labour - I did the while labour on dioralyte. Then another bout on day 4 post birth as my milk came in. Miserable. I wonder if it could be hormonal.

It is so gross BFing and looking after two kids when feeling this bad. Any ideas what it could be? Before you ask, I'm not pregnant - havent managed to DTD since DD2 born! Saw doctor last week who told me to keep a diary of incidents but that's it.

Sounds really grim .

Go back to the GP and make sure they understand how dreadful it is .Write up a diary /record from memory if you've not been able to keep one .Make sure it shows how dreadful you feel .

Be prepared to make a fuss ,I dont know situation while breastfeeding but there are loads of anti sickness drugs they can prescribe .Including ones that just dissolve in your mouth .
Could your Health Visitor help get you help ?

Oh and get some Dioralyte down you - or google and make up your own - it might help ,tho I see you haven't actually been sick .Bet you wish you could be .

Huge sympathies ,thought of feeling ill while caring for little ones makes me practically pass out !

Hi twinkle, I posted a not too dissimilar thread recently called constant nausea not pregnant might be worth a look x

Possibly gallstones? After having dd1
I'd get waves of nausea (pains too though, in stomach).

I had this, and 4 months after DD was born, it was diagnosed as overactive thyroid. I was told that this can manifest during/after pregnancy, ie that pregnancy somehow triggers it. Symptoms were very similar to yours, with nausea and weight loss. Other symptoms can include feeling hot, palpitations, anxiety and tremor. I'd recommend getting a thyroid function test.
