Driving me MAAAAAAD. Often get grumpy/tearful before period but for the last few months it's been unrelated to cycle, totally random times, differing durations, and MAJOR angriness - I feel like it's pressing really hard on my chest, and I want to shout/hit stuff (I don't)

It's freaking me out. I get depressed/anxious a lot but not anger like this. It's not PMT and I am not pregnant or on any hormonal contraception etc so what the jeff is going on?

Heeeelp :(

Well, pretty shit TBH, and has been for a while - I have had a lot of MH problems anyway and also now have a chronic illness to deal with, got a busy few weeks ahead. So lots of obvious reasons, but this is a different reaction for me IYSWIM - normally tearful, panicky, withdrawn etc rather than grumpy cowbag from hell!

Thanks. I have learned some relaxation type things from my occupational therapist so must get better at putting them into practise. :)

Aaaaaargh I am struggling massively today. I am sick of it.

Fuzzpig I so know how you feel. I'm like this at the moment too. just feel on the edge all the time and can't seem to cope with the slightest thing. I just want to be on my own and not talk to anyone. I think it's stress and I hate being like it. sorry I'm not much help but I do sympathise.

fuzzpig · 14/09/2013 20:20

It's weird, much of the time I am fine but then suddenly I want to curl up and hide.

Ah, so way too young for the perimenopausal stuff I went through a couple of years ago which sounds very similar. It might be worth asking your GP if your hormone levels can be checked.

UnicornsPooGlitter · 14/09/2013 20:52

Hmm, I think I get this sometimes. I walk around at work wondering why no-one is shouting about how terrible it is to work there, as that's what I'd really like to do. It's interesting to hear that this is a normal facet of anxiety and depression (both of which I suffer from).

fuzzpig · 14/09/2013 21:07

I certainly hope it isn't anything menopause related!

I am seeing my dr on thurs anyway and will certainly bring this up. It is just not like me at all!

what and when was your last thyroid test, fuzzpig, and did they test antibodies?

fuzzpig · 15/09/2013 17:15

Thyroid probs were ruled out as part of other investigations, not sure what exact tests they did (last year)

I feel horrendous today.

Hi Fuzzpig, If I remember correctly you have ME. So do I and the mood swings are a symptom.

I ride the wave of the Grotbag Cow from the moment I ovulate until I get my period. Its awful so you have my sympathy. Have a Brew and some Cake
Its getting a bit better and I have a new supplement from my nutritionist that I plan to start taking. Am weaning myself off Amitryptline at the moment so want a clean slate iyswim before I start.

BishBashBoshBoo · 15/09/2013 18:15

I should have said that they are a symptom for me. That doesn't mean that they are for you of course. As I'm sure you know very well the ME Monster has many and varied manifestations (the Bastard)

fuzzpig · 15/09/2013 18:20

Indeed it does. It is not a symptom for me, at least it wasn't, but things change I guess. I hope this is temporary as I can't stand it. It feels like PMT but constant rather than the one half day a month that I had before. I even POAS last week as had a few other symptoms but nope not pregnant either.

GAAAAAAAAAH

i think i said last year, so sorry to repeat, but thyroid is v badly managed in the uk and it is well worth keeping an eye on the test results eg hashimotos goes up and down and so tests can sometimes be normal, or borderline. not everywhere tests antibodies etc.
maybe worth another round of blood tests, perhaps other hormones too?

digerd · 15/09/2013 19:03

I am the same, except for the anger. I think it is the chopping and changing weather that is disorientating me, physically and emotionally.
ATM it is so dark and gloomy I feel it is hours later than it is. Also having strange dreams at nightConfused
