Cradle cap - best treatment

My DD 10 months has slight cradle cap, when she was younger i used dentinox shampoo that worked well.

But now she will not keep still and it will get into her eyes, just wondered if anyone had treated it successfully with something a bit safer ?

I used Dentinox shampoo with DD for over a year and it made no differnece. I also tried rubbing olive oil in, also made no difference.

Now all I do is rub her scalp gently with the towel when her hair is wet after the bath and combing it very carefully with quite a thin comb. It is coming out now but very very gradually (DD now 15 months).

-DS has had slight cradle cap and we've been using dentinox shampoo for about 6 weeks. It does work eventually but I think you need to use it at least every other day and persevere.

Ok, enlighten me. Why do you have to do anything?? DSs both had it. It disappeared at some point.

I did nothing btw. No oiling, special shampooing, rubbing or combing.

How old were your DSs when it went Soupdragon?

babyonboard · 19/06/2006 11:39

soupdragon..my ds had it too and i tried olive oil couple of times and it didn't work so I left it alone and it has now gone completely on its own.

We stopped using baby shampoo too, and still don't.
My h.v said that trying to treat it can often just aggrevate it, so it's best not to touch it.

I've no idea Mackenzie! Their hair grew thicker, I stopped seeing it so lost interest and then it was gone.

DS is 9months; has slight CC. Tried a bit of baby oil rubbed into his hair overnight then washed it out next morning. Lifted some CC but not all; however his hair was beautifully silky afterwards! Grin Haven't tried anything else as I'm not sure it's necessary.
