It's at the back in the bottom right corner of his skull. Thing is it doesn't feel like bone, more like a cyst or at least fleshy iykwim.
He has always had it but it's getting bigger.
Will go to gp asap but anyone know what it could be to ease porr dh's mind. He is so worried and tbh I am too :(

I have a small lump on my head, dh thinks it's a cyst. I think it is very common, but obviously GP will hopefully put your mind at rest. Sorry that ds is worried, has he said that it hurts?

littlerach · 18/06/2006 15:20

Dh had a lump on his spine for years.
He was too worried to see GP.
When he did, they said it was a fatty lump, like a cyst, and they booked hom in to have it removed.
DH says he misses it now.

Sounds like a sebaceous cyst. If so they are quite common and usually cause no problems unless they become infected. Sometimes they burst or disappear of their own accord or you can have them removed. I had one removed last year by our own GP in a minor surgery clinic - done in a matter of minutes and just had a slightly sore head for a few hours. If it's getting bigger he ought to see his GP though to check it out.

i had the exact thing a couple of months ago but was too scared toi go to GP (crazy i know), its gone now though

Could it be just an enlarged gland? Any other symptoms?

Blu · 19/06/2006 14:35

Sounds like a lypoma - what Littlerach describes below.
DP had one, in the same position. Completely harmless growth of fat (mine covers my entire stomach area...), BUT he should get it checked and removed because they can grow and interfere with nerves etc.

Thanks everyone. Going to make appt for gp tonight.

Doesn't sounds like it can be anything too serious (thank god)
